BJ8 padded dash top

I am just about to attempt to re cover the padded dash top on my BJ8.

The vinyl will need to be cut/pierced to accommodate the demister vents and tenex studs.

I worry that at some stage the vinyl will seperate at these points and ride up above the vents/studs.

Any idea of the best way to avoid this? Is it possible to glue down the edgees in these areas?

For the tenax studs use a leather hole punch to get you a nice clean round hole. Around the demister cut a narrow slot and fold the vinyl back through the slot and glue it securely . When you cut the slots cut rounded corners to minimize the split from the corner risk .
I also put a small stainless steel washer on the tenax stud before installing them to help pinch down on the fabric . I know the purists don't like that but Im not a purist and its barely noticeable unless you really look .
