Bj8 intake manifold to heat shield to carb gaskets

Hi, I have a bj8 and am replacing my intake / exhaust manifold gasket, and the intake gaskets thru to the carb. I have a question on the types of gaskets used when replacing the gaskets between the intake manifold, spacers, heat shield, and the carbs.
The previous rebuild had gaskets in this order. 1) Between the intake manifold and 1/2 inch thick spacer. This was a thick gasket with one metal side. 2) between the spacer and heat shield, a thin paper gasket. 3) between the heat shield and carb, a flat paper gasket that is an hourglass shape.

Is this correct? If not, what is the correct type of gasket and in which order? One person I asked said there should be two thick gaskets on either side of the spacer.

Referring to Anderson Moment for pix and the Moss catalog, section "Manifolds, 100-6, (6 port, twin carb)" - for the BJ8, this order:

Manifold, thin gasket, spacer block, thick gasket, heat shield, thick gasket, carb.

Hi John,
The original spacers came with metal type gaskets on both sides . The parts book lists 4 (12b814) gaskets so maybe these go each side of the shield. carby_spacer_original.jpg

Thanks for the reply. The Moss catalog does not show a gasket between the intake manifold and the spacer. You said you referenced a pix from Anderson Moment. Can I see that somewhere?

I was referring to A-M to see the placement of the insulating blocks. The pix are not good enough to see the thin gaskets. Moss item 48 calls for 4@ "Gasket, heat shield to carb. BJ8". Assuming these are on either side of the heat shield.

You'll still need gaskets between the insulating blocks and manifold - however they don't spec a thin gasket, which are definitely available - see below:

This is my DMD manifold - only for illustration of thin gaskets.
