BJ8 foot well vinyl panels?

I am replacing the foot well vinyl panels on my BJ8, prior owner had redone them wrapped in carpet. How are they attached,(from the factory), the passenger panel is two pieces, why is that? This is far from a show car but I would like to install them as it was done by the factory. Any pictures would be great.

I don't imagine any of the big Healeys are different in this detail. Isn't it all just sheetmetal screws with countersunk washers. Look for the holes in the sheet metal.

Hi Ed,

I also wondered why the left and right side kick panels were different and why the right side panel on a left hand drive car was only a vinyl wrapped frame with vinyl just glued to the kick panel metal behind the frame to cover the open center of the frame. As I remember, the kick panels were held in place with by the door surround weather stripping and a sheet metal screw.

On my BT7, the panels are held in place by about 5 screws with cup washers. The right side is different to accommodate RHD cars since the width of the footwell is more narrow than the left. The gas pedal would be so close to the side that the panel could interfere.

Because on the__few__RHD models, that slight indentation gave just that much more room for one's foot on the accelerator pedal.
