BJ8 Clutch Pushrod

Are there any sources available to replace the pushrod on my BJ8? The "U" connection to the pedal shaft is worn and there is allot of play in the pedal. It was repaired at some point by welding some brass washers to the assembly. I know Moss does not carry new ones.

If new is not available, any good suggestions on a fix?

thanks,
Frank

Frank,

For a different car, I made one out of 2 ball rod ends with a strap between them and the push rod tied to the strap.

McMaster-Carr has a wide variety of ball rod ends and (scroll down) a wide variety of Clevis ends.

They will probably have something that will work for you.

Good Luck,

Tim

Thanks for the tips ... I ended up having the clevis hole welded closed and then re-drilled it. I'm just surprised that this particular part is not available anywhere.

thanks again for the help.

Frank

Any of you folks that run into a worn clevis concern in the future. You do not need to restrict yourselves to the "normal" parts suppliers.

Substitution. i.e. same type of clevis is used on clutch actuation in Honda/Toyota/and some Nissans from the late 70's through the early 90's.. And there are a lot more of those in wrecking yards around the country...
