BJ8 / C42 dynamo bearing specification

Does anyone have a note of the size of the BJ8 / C42 dynamo bearing ? (rear bush too would be a bonus).

I intend to strip mine and want to pick up the bits at my local bearing shop in advance rather than wait for a shipment.

The front bearing is held in with three rivets I believe - anyone know what size as I don't see them listed anywhere - any reason that they cannot be replaced with bolts?

Hi Andrew, I replaced the rivets by threading the holes and installing screws. Be sure and put internal tooth lock washers under the heads or thread locker on the threads. Once you have removed the bearing its code is etched on the race and easily matched at a bearing shop. take the bush along with you too.-FWIW---Keoke

I was hoping to have got the bearing before dismantling but in fact I've cheated and ordered a rebuilt unit from A/H Spares - apparently the rear bushes are in short supply (odd - I would have thought they were a fairly standard sintered phosper bronze oilite bush

Yep Andrew, they are a standard oilite component.Do not know why you could not source one. OH Well-Regards---Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
