I am in the market for leather seat kits for an BJ7...I am looking at Heritage kits and Moss Motors...about a 10% difference in price but I would like someone to weigh in on quality and fit who has experience with either supplier.

Thanks in advance.

Quality and fit, Herritage.
Customer satisfaction if a problem, Moss.
Read between the lines.

512 Classics sells a lot of NOS and excellent Healey items.
Here's a link to a leather set he's selling on Ebay. May not be what your looking for, but it shows how nice it is. (concours)

He list's his telephone number. Nice guy. He can check his stock and see if he has what your looking for. He's got the good stuff.

I've purchased alot of items from him. Every one, was top notch.
He's your neighbor too. Stamford, Connecticut.

Good luck with your search.

I have used Heritage three times and have been very pleased with their work. Have had no problems with any service after the sale.

My choice hinged upon custom color choices as many other suppliers do not offer anything but factory color combinations. Having seen my Heritage seats and those form others I am convinced that a majority of the final look is the skill of the installer. The Healey seat upholstery is very difficult to install properly. If there are any wrinkles at all in the seat the best leather kit will look terrible. Unless you are experienced or have a lot of time and patience I would take them to a pro for the install.

Hey Jersey,
I have installed two Moss kits and if Heritage is only 10% more, I would go
with Heritage. I do a lot of business with Moss - at least to me it's a lot-
and have no complaints with them but the lack of installation instructions
and they seem to cut the seat bottom leather with no room for error really
are a pain. Of course they will sell you an installation video which I was
able to borrow from one of the guys on the forum- Tahoe Healey I think, and
that is pretty good. But to have to buy one with what those kits cost !
I have only heard good things about Heritage and know that 356 Porsche guys
think their stuff is great too. Also understand they will give you a lot
of advice on how to install. But be warned, if you don't have arthritis in your
hands before you work on those things, you will later. Killed my hands with
all the stretching of materials and such. Seat bottoms are not too bad to
install and get to look good, but those backs are awful to get to where you
don't have wrinkles. Like Steve above said, a bad installation will make
the best kit look awful.
Good luck,
Mike

Yep, try Phoenix Upholstery - for a look at the quality, find my old post showing pictures of the seats Dave did for me. You can't get any better quality!! Call Dave at 604 980 1380

bighealey, ive done two sets of seats and also found the lack of material for the bottoms, a while back i bought a "white" heavey duty industrial sawing machine along with a couple of extra yards of material and added lenght to those sections so id have something to grab onto and stretch/pull those pieces into position, if one saws it correctly you dont even have to use the same material or color, those seams never show on the outer edges, makes the kit so much easier to install, and adds the advantage of giving more material to glue staple clip or screw into for more strength, no more material rolling back out over the edges, ive seen people punch holes near the edges of the material with screw drivers and awls in order to achieve some leverage, they just ripped the poor thing to shreds, you might ask was the cost of the sawing machine justified? well the local interior guy here in stamford ct. wanted $600.00 per seat just for labor, no kit, no material, id put my "bottom" up against his any day, and my son and wife "allow" me to do all the sawing for them, i actually injoy doing "saw".
