Once again I need a little advice. I bought my BJ7 last year and it did not come with a jack. As my truck is basically full with the spare tire anyway, I guess I should get a jack so that I use the thing. It seems that King Dick no longer makes them, so does anyone have any ideas on a suitable alternative? One other thing, one of the spokes on the spare is broken, does this make it useless?

Alos, if you try to find some after-market jack to carry until you get the real thing, remember: it has to be slim enough to slip under the car when the tire is flat.
 
Thanks for the link, that was a very interesting article. I have replaced spokes on a bicycle and it sounds like pretty much the same thing.
 
HI Steve, the small hydraulic scissor jacks seem to be the best you can do in the way of a jack for the Healey. Carry a short piece of 2 X 6 to drive up on to improve clearance under the car.-FWIW---Keoke
 
When my Dad first got his BJ8, it came with a very non-original, but perfectly functioning jack. It is small, and fits nicely in the trunk. It also works very well under a Healey. A number of years later, I purchased a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, and wouldn't ya know it, it had the ideantical jack. When I needed a jack for my BN6, I simply went to the local wrecker, and found a jack for a Jeep Cherokee. Mine works great. I think I paid $5 bucks for it!!

Good Question! I have never had the misfortune of needing to try it with a flat. I can tell you that it is no taller than the Shelly jack. I will take a picture of it tonight and try posting it later.
