I'm restoring a 1962 BJ7 and have encountered a problem with fuel delivery to the carbs. The fuel line from the fuel pump to the engine bay is 5/16" inch, which I believe is correct. In the engine bay end there is a male 7/8" fitting, measured across the flats, and standard 3/8" end threads. Now, at the HS6 carbs there is a 1/4" nipple to accept the fuel line.
My question is, how do you go from a 5/16" fuel line to a 1/4" fuel line? The, what I believe to be, original fuel line was a 3/8" line from the fuel pump, to another 3/8" line that was open ended and "squeezed" onto the 1/4" inch nipple at the carbs (see attached photo). That doesn't look correct to me. Any suggestions?
Thanks to all who respond.
