On the BJ7 cars should there be a flexible section of tube between the front pipes and the silencer ?
The parts book shows a picture but no item number, can you still get them ?
I guess if you buy the complete system new you get everything but i still have the original front pipes which cleaned up ok and so just bought the silencer and tail pipe, is SSteel worth the money.

Hi Rob,
As you have seen, new flex is only offered as part of a complete new down pipe. You have several choices.

Some folks just replace the flex section with plain pipe. If the rest of the exhaust is rubber mounted as original, the flex makes very little difference.

There is cheap aftermarket spiral wound flex pipe available which would look close to original, & you could use it to replace the missing part.

To go a step further, there are very high quality flex pipes available which have an acordion inner section with braided stainless overlay.
