BJ-7-Top frame connected to rear shroud?

Hi Robert,
As I recall, the top frame is only bolted to the wheel arches. The soft top is screwed the drain channel.

Robert, I was just looking at mine today, because I am at the beginning of disassembly for a complete restoration. I have never taken my top off before, but it appears that the hood canvas is tucked into the shroud drain channel and held there by the moulding and screws. The actual top bows/frame are just anchored at the pivot point just behind the seats about shoulder height. I'm sure some others here can elaborate more on this.

Actually the soft top clips to the trim rail (Moss #806-195) with clip item (326-185). The trim rail then screws to the drain channel on the rear shroud. The difficulty is in getting the proper tension & stretch on the top when clipping it to the trim rail as that has to be done before screwing on the trim rail. Sort of a trial and error method that is sometimes best left to a professional convert. top expert.
