BJ-7 overdrive relay wiring problem

The overdrive relay on my BJ-7 car (early) has 3 terminals coming out the top and one terminal on the bottom left. Considering the length and placement of the wires I assumed that the way I hooked it up 25 years ago was correct
White to C1, White/green to C2, White & purple to W1 and black to W2 (bottom terminal. However, in my diagram it shows the black wire going to W1 and the white/purple to W2. It would be a very clumsy arrangement of wire to connect it in this way without extending the white/purple wires & I wonder if my wiring diagram is inaccurate or that the way it seems to fit is?

Any input appreciated.

Robert

Hi Robert, Pins W1 & W2 are the coil connections of the relay. They can be connected either way with out affecting the unit's operation. !] as you have done or 2] as shown on the drawing.---Keoke
