Took advantage of a somewhat favorable exchange and purchased some goodies from Denis Welch Motosports. Items included a replacement gear lever and brass bush. Any pointers on installation? The brass bush is in three pieces, does the whole three piece assembly press onto the shift ball with the snap ring keeping it in place or are the two brass halves located onto the shift ball followed by rolling the snap ring into its recess? How is the gear lever removed? Appears that a snap ring and spring keep it in place, but there may be a locating pin to drive in/out towards the base. Any suggestions would be appreciated. GONZO

Simply remove the snap ring, washer and spring, then lift out the shifter. Don't have to remove the pin you see. It is used to keep the shifter from rotating by way of a slot in the pivot ball. You'll understand when the shifter is out.

You can try to put the brass bush on as an assembled unit or take it apart and put the two halves around the shift ball and then install the circlip. Whichever works...
 
Leave it assembled, the clip will expand, just push over ball on the end of the lever.

The hard part is getting it EXACTLY IN LINE to insert it into the receiver inside the xmsn. A little bevel on the bottom__like on the top__would make it a lot easier.

I put a little water proof grease on and around mine. It did help the bushing slide in but as Randy says aligning it can be tricky.
