2 or B when took out the trim around the gear shift i found the connector for the Sport mode button, (educated guess) could i get a jaguar sport button off eBay and plug it in and have the computer just say "jolly good chaps hold on to your top hats" or is my child like optimism going to get dashed on white cliffs of reality

any tips on getting the front windows to not take a T break half way up? the switch is fine, and i have white lithium every thing i could.

My windows on the X type occasionally do the same thing. The manual says to run the window up and hold the switch in the up position to reset the position. Don't know if it's the same on yours, but I suspect it may be. Seems to help. I don't think the used switch will be a problem, it's not like a control device which has to be programmed to the car. When I lost a set of keys to the jag, not only was a new key set expensive ( 688.00 ) but there would have been a programming charge to get the car to recognize the new key set (120.00 ). So, I only have one key set. Dealers really gouge you as a new key set is a dealer only item. No local key shop can cut one.

thanks, yeah the X is mainly a ford product if i had stuck to my plan and bought a 97 xj i would be dealing with ford parts.
its not the switch and I've had the bosch moter out, that seems ok. i will just silicon spray the BLEEP out of the tracks and resemble. rain here almost very day.
off topic i am selling a summer cabin in Maine, near Fryburg - bridgeton if you know anyone interested
