MGB Biscuit interior in Red MGB??

Going to be doing the interior of the beast soon and was wondering how Biscuit interior would look in a Red B.
Thanks,
Tom

One other thing: I am thinking about painting the rubber bumpers to match.

I think I would like that Tom. I think Biscuit is beautiful and with the red should really be nice.

I think it would look great.

My master plan is to bring mine back to original BRG, black carpet but biscuit on the seats and trim panels with a tan hood. Not original but it's my car!

Hay Tom, you got to like it and enjoy it. That is really the only requirement.

Tom,

I happen to be a big fan of the red/biscuit combo myself. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif Here's some pics for you:

These were taken during my restoration effort. As you may notice, there are some missing items (shift boot, etc.) that are now in place. The car's a '69 and it's not an MG color...it's '05 Corvette Precision Red (it's a dark red)Dave

Beautiful, and the same color combination that my wife has picked for the Midget.

yup, that will be the interior color of my B as well. The Florida sun will not allow for a black interior. and i have always been a fan of the old Ferrari's that were red w/ tan.

I was gonna ask if you'd take it "back" to BRG after seein' it behind where the heater box was. Good choice. The tan interior/top will be quite attractive, IMHO. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I've been struggling lately between BRG and Pale Primrose. My first car was a '67 MGB in PP and I get a little sentimental every now and then. Just a diversion, though. This particular gal was born to be BRG, and so she shall be once again.

The current MGB was OEW, sprayed "Amana" white when we got it in '88... I vowed then, when it came to the point of rebuild it would go back to the Abingdon colour.

OTOH, my original B was BRG... I redid it the first time in same. Next two times it was reshot in a Ford silver metallic. I thought it would be distinctive. Hey, I was YOUNG. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hay Tom, now you have something to shoot for. Man that is one nice looking B. Bet I could find room somewhere.

Red and biscuit is a nice combination, but I'm not sure about painting the rubber bumpers: I've never seen it done well.

Is it easy to convert to chrome bumpers in the US? In England, the Owners Club do a kit for a reasonable price, and it seems to be pretty popular. The other advantage is that you save a lot of weight: the rubber bumpers are heavy.

Rhoamish, I've decide against painting the rubber bumpers on mine. The rubber is not in good enough shape to get the finish with matching color.

A good body shop should be able to repair your rubber bumpers and prep them for paint. There are fillers available that can be used for dents, gouges, scratches and general rubber repairs. These fillers are also paintable. Having said that, I must admit that I've never been a fan of painted rubber bumpers on a B. I've seen some that were done nicely. Most of them were dark colored cars, mallard green, black, dark blue, etc. I don't care for bright painted rubber bumpers myself.

My vote is for the chrome bumpers with an air dam on the front.
