Is that any relation to FUBAR???

I plead ignorance....

James - chuck is going to teach me how to glue new floors in one of my car.

WHEW!! Spent most of the day uploading tech tips...lemme know what you guys think.
Lots more to go!

Good news /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Chuck I'm sure glad you are allowing all that wonderful info to be saved and Tony I'm glad he is providing it to you. Chuck you're not going to be a stranger around here are ya /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thnaks for preserving all the "Tribal Knowledge" at the Shadetree site, Tony!

Welcome, Chuck! Pleased to make your acquaintance. If Tony puts the "Seal of Approval" on yer head, you're pro'lly gonna fit right in! Just don't let th' seal mess up th' floor... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I used "PanelBond" instead of FUSOR to install my floorboards and the patch panels on the rear fenders, but am a big proponent of using *chemistry*. I rode around in plenty (or too many) rotary wing aircraft wot were glued together with epoxies. No fears of "weak" seams on our LBC's.

Again: Welcome! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

I've done about half a dozen floorboards for various people in the past 2 years with nary a problem. I'm not even worried about the extra stresses involved in Tony's racecar

When I first stuck me nodge up in here I announced I was using "glue" for floors and panels... Tony chided me a bit but was well aware of the strength and qualities of the epoxy "welds."

I'd done some 'xperimenting with the stuff ahead of time and was absolutely convinced. Had to beat one test piece nearly to embrittlement before the plastic bond even -started- to fail. Great stuff.

Didn't have a way to do any tensile "tests" but shear and compression testing convinced me I didn't need to.

I think when chuck & I get them glued in, my mind will be entirely changed & I'll be a proponent of them!

But it's not, uh, traditional! Thats the biggest reason folks, including myself, are leary of it. At the same time, I look at my 2001 GMC P/U and see that the door is held onto the A pillar with some kind of GLUE! Gotta be a heavy door, 50-60 pounds maybe. I'm just hardheaded and old fashioned and set in my ways, but I wavering a tiny bit

Gerry - that's why I'm experimenting on the racer & not one of my good cars - 'course they don't need floors either.

You'll be set - like I said before Tony, Take lots of pictures!

Hey, it's probably been six months since I've been over to the BCF ... Just can't .... seem ... to keep up ... with all I have to do.

But glad to see your posts, Chuck, and hope all is well. So glad that your efforts are living on at The Autoist.

And remember, I meant no disrespect. I'm just clueless...
