Yesterday I was Facetiming with my 7 year old granddaughter. She asked me to give her a math problem as it's a "game" we play often. I said OK "how much is 37 + 4?"
I immediately heard "the answer is 41"!! The only thing is that it did not sound like my granddaughters voice, so I said "who is that?".
My granddaughter then informed me that it was Alexa (Amazon voice assistant).
Voice assistants = constantly listening. No thanks.

Yeah, I don't like those things and don't understand why anyone would want one.

You would never know who else is listening. Can't believe it can answer all questions, would have to have someone to look up just regular private answers.

Got us!

Yea, I have no electronic assistant, haven't configured it on my phone, on my daily driver or Cortana on my laptop. Besides the listening in thing I'm perfectly capable of answering my own asked questions or looking it up. Don't have any net connected home appliances or such either. Don't want to have to worry over hacking or other security related possibilities.

Spy cloud.

Skynet

If I had one of those devices, I would no longer be talking to myself. Can't have that.
