Ever since I heard this song on the sound-track of the movie "50 first dates" I have been trying to find a version of it (it was not on the sound-track CD!). Lo and behold, there it was on Youtube!!! I loved it and I hope you all will too!!

Some of the other songs he does are great too!

Very nice!I ended up listening to the whole thing.
Man that's one "Big Boy"!

That song has now been used on nearly every TV show currently on TV and to sell every product there is.

a great song and a great voice unfortunately deceased, but a good combination of it's a wonderful world and somewhere over the rainbow

Only problem with great Hawaiian music like that is I start feeling the trade winds & the lure of the islands....spent 6 weeks there last summer & every afternoon I walked out onto my hotel room balcony to this vista:

One of the other videos listed in the side bar is the celebration of the spreading of his ashes to the "rainbow" soundtrack. Quite touching!! He was very popular in the islands!! Wasn't the rank of ancient Hawai'ian royalty measured by their size? If so, he would have been an emperor!

Yeah, I've got that recording in about 3 CD's that I've mixed and recorded. What a great, simple but pure rendition. Also have a few of those Hawaii scenes that I was fond of in the attachment:

The first time I heard that version was in Finding Forrester. I've been a fan ever since, although it's getting a bit played out these days.
Sadly Israel Kamakawiwo'ole died a while back.

Wow, what a voice. I've never heard him sing before but would like to buy his album if available. Can it be had? I love Hawaiian music anyway. It has a lot of feeling built into it.

If you surf the other videos on him on Youtube, his album is shown(along with a few more of his songs - good Hawaiian stuff!). There are a few versions of "Over the rainbow" and some interesting visuals in each! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
