Best way to trim shut face finishers

Hey all,
Need to trim the new shut face finishers for my BN6. They're
from Kilmartin but need minor trimming to fit properly. I have
cut some before with your typical metal shears but those
tend to distort the aluminum a bit and trying to avoid that.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Mike

A file. They cut faster than you think (or it's dull and need to be sharpened) and the edge will require only minor dressing once you've got the shape you want.

I used an old scroll saw I picked up at a flea market. I taped the shutface edge with blue tape and mounted them. Then I scribed the rear fender contour on the tape. Then another scribe 1/2 " to the inside. Used the scroll saw to cut, and then finised the edge with a fine file. Seems like a bit of work, but now that shut face edge is purfect all the way down. Thats why you got the Kilmartens, they are made to be exact fitted. The saw only set me back 20 bucks and has come in handy since.

Belt sander works like a file without all the elbow grease.
