Yeah, I was making the assumption that it was a joke. You're right, though, the responses are weird. The initial post was pretty funny, the responses made me glad I hang out on this forum and not that one.
That was a VERY interesting(???) forum!!! Makes one really appreciate what we have here!! I give that guy an A+ for creative thinking and an F- for mechanical theory!!!
That stevewix avatar is ah, breathtaking? shall we say!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
So what was it that first struck you as wrong with his idea? The lack of oxygen to burn was what everybody on that forum seem to hit on. But the thing that struck me immediately was that the intake valves would be closed when the exhaust valves were open and there would be nowhere for the exhaust air to go while waiting to get into the cylinders again.

At least he is right about one thing,
"I’m sure there will be a noticeable difference in torque output."
yeah he might notice as the torque hits 0. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Believe it or not, in the early 70's a guy in Santa Rosa, CA, marketed something like this as a smog control. I was drag racing at the time and the employees of the company where I worked were mad because I would not invest in the "invention". I asked to see the drawings for it so I could evaluate and was told it was a secret. He bilked a lot of people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. He, also, had a black box to a motor that doubled the output of an electric motor. I believe he went to jail after filing bankrupty. Believe it or not!!!!!
/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif I'm not sure which is funnier the actual post or the responses of the guys who read it. I had to forward that on to my son the "Turbo....more power please" guy.
He actually had to call he laughed so hard! Thanks!!!!
