Best glue for dash?

I haven't tried it for this purpose, but 3M Fast Tack comes to mind. That stuff is pretty darn strong! It will probably tear the pad apart if you try to take it apart again. Even more permanent might be something like Gorilla Glue.

Stewart, I use a spray on contact cement, such as 3M. I spray the new pad and the dash. I then make up 6 inch wide strips of a heavy gage poly vinyl. I lay the strips on the dash, side by side, lay the new pad on top. What ever you do, make sure it is in the proper position and then pull the strips out one at a time.
TIP! Make sure the pad fits the way it's supposed to before cementing, by shaving or sanding the foam backing! Once it's cemented, it's all over!
I also cut the gage and switch holes after the pads cemented in.

Well its glued down and so far it fits nicely. Used the 3m super interior adheasive and it worked well. So far everything is lined up nicely. The pad seems a bit thicker than the original around the fan switch and the oil presure beezel is having some issues fitting with the thicker foam.

Still need to wrap the edges and rivit the bottom portion in place but so far its looking 2000% better than it did before.

That's the same problem I had with mine. I had to remove a very small amount of foam around the instrument holes, warm the material with a hair dryer to soften it a little and everything went into place. Your dash looks great! I see you have everyones favorite little project setting behind it. Fun, fun, fun!

Dang it. Minor set back. Had 2 of the studs on the heater dial break off. Anyone have a heater dial for a 73 to 76 that they would be willing to sell?
