Best Carpet Kit Available?

Ok so I have the inside of my 64 3synchro B ready for carpet.

What is the best carpet kit available?

I don't want to get bit by a cheap price and crappy quality!

Thanks in advance guys

Jay

Jay, I bought mine from Moss when restoring the car, which included two new seats, paneling and carpet set. The carpet was cut and edged to fit perfectly with preformed tunnel and fender well covers. I had to do no trimming. Here's a photo. The interior with leather seats, carpet and all paneling was around $1700 as a package deal. Even though the seats are not original, they look good and are far more comfortable on a long ride.

Paul,

Good Lord your cars interior is pretty!

I'll be in touch with Tony then.

Thanks

Jay

Wow, that's sharp! I've been thinking of that color interior in Midgie. I think you just helped me make the decision. I like the seat pattern. Did you have to replace your seat foams and webbing?

The seats are not original, They were made by Suffolk in leather. The color is biscuit. I have stated earlier that the kit came from Moss. Don't know why I thought that, but I was wrong, as it came from Victoria British. The interior kit in leather is now $2999.95. I can't believe how much it has gone up in price.

I've looked at the Suffolk kit for Spridgets and like what it has to offer. Did yours come with all hardware? How easy was it to fit carpet and panels? The biggest reason I've considered this kit is for the seats. How much of a difference is there in the Suffolk seats compared to the stock units?

My seats will have to have a complete rebuild. Price of all components not to mention any seat frame repairs and repainting would be about as much as the seats in this kit.

The seats came without the runners. You have to use your old ones. The holes matched up on my old runners and the fit was perfect. The pattern is what you see in the photo for MGBs. I couldn't say for a Spridget, but I would assume it would be the same.
The carpet and panels fit perfectly! No cutting or trimming on the carpet or panels. I was amazed how well they fit. What you see in the photos is how it came out of the box.

I have a 3 synchro '64 MGB. I have carpet from Chart One in England and have been very happy with it. Plus, it was the cheapest molded tunnel beige carpet I could find even with shipping. That was over a year ago though....dollar was stronger.

Hehe, check the dollar today. We are moveing right along we are.

Do the carpet pieces have any insulation on the back?

No Jim they don't. I used an automotive high heat insulation on the tunnel and fire wall. It definitely makes a difference on heat transfer to the interior of the car.
