I'm keeping an eye out for a well-used dirt-cheap bench-top milling machine. Just one of those things that I figure the more people I tell, the better my odds of stumbling on one. Eventually a small/medium sized metal lathe would be good as well. All the assorted bits and tooling fall in that category too.

Keep your eyes open in the auction and business closings sections of your local paper. Sadly, there are a lot of old time machine shops who don't meet ISO standards unable to get new business and are going under or just retiring.
