BEER

Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Now that's a great quote...

Apologies, Elliot! I should'a-could'a said: "A drumstick in every can!"

...None of my friends ever called me on it. But then they ain't any more observant than me. We all love to go out to rib joints, and bacon is decidedly ON th' menu at breakfast.

No apologies what-so-ever Doc. I just thought it was a humorous spin on beer ingredients. I never took offense at all.
Bring on the BLT's

If you cannot find beer there's always scotch:

Quote:]SCOTCH
The following list contains several brands of Scotch that have been researched by the Chicago Rabbinical Council and found to be acceptable.
Please make sure to take note of the vintage or special variety listed as not all types under a particular label are recommended.
This listed is a work in progress and will be updated as more information becomes available. Only those varieties of Scotch that were found to be recommended will be posted. The criteria used to establish this list was to check the label and packaging of each particular brand, type and vintage and ascertain that it was not produced using any possible questionable methods. Some questionable methods include scotch aged in wine casks such as sherry or port, dual casks, French casks or European casks.

I already tried that but the only things I wound up watching to make sure they were kosher were baby food and cornflakes. 10,000 pounds of bananas mushed up are gross irrelevant of their kosher status!

In all great likelihood, no one is there watching the scotch being produced since they are produced in a very controlled manner with no changes and have a quite tightly defined ingredient list. Likewise Beer (back to the original topic) if it is REAL beer rarely needs supervision and is almost intrinsically kosher.

I vaguely considered becoming a rabbi (and have enough of a background in rabbinics that was a reasonable option) for a short while before coming to the conclusion that I would make a much better engineer.
