BE top frame to borrow-Fla?

After searching for a nice top frame at a nice price I think I can make one for a lot cheaper. I have all the special tools to copy one, I just need to get my hands on one for an hour. It doesn't matter how rusty, I just need one that is the right shape.

If you aren't too far from St Pete, Fl I can come to you to make the pattern.(couple hundred miles?) If things work out, I'll make YOU a new one for your trouble.

Who will let me fondle their top?

I am too far but you are more than welcome. Niceville near Destin.

Since I've only seen two other BE's in my county in 16 years down here, you may be my best option. What is the closest general aviation airport to you? I may be able to borrow a 182 and zip up there one day. I haven't been near Eglin in the air, how much of the sky do they shut down near you?

I will be back down at my Bonita Springs home the week after Christmas. I have one of my Bugeyes down there for the winter, and I have the top frame. Let me know if you can wait until around Dec. 30.

taskadog- didn't even think about asking Glenn, good call! Heck, he might have a frame in his collection of organ donors.

Kuzman- Bonita Springs is an easy trip, can you bring some Skyline Chili? I'm a useless nut(buckeye)too! Grew up in Toledo, moved here in '96. If nothing comes together early Jan is fine with me. I'm waiting for a big box of stuff from A-H spares so the car is on stands right now.

Excellent no long trip required.

I'm in Orlando if you happen to be over here visiting Mickey (or Minnie for that matter). Jim

There is actually a Skyline Chili in Naples! However, as a NE Ohio native, I am not big on the Cincinnati style chili.

Just let me know if you need to cruise down to Bonita Springs. Best to reach me by e-mail at jkuzman@fuse.net

John,

See you didn't grow up in Cincy like I did and ate it 2-3x's per week while going to University of Cincinnati. Getting closer to putting that BE in my garage. Talked to the guy this week and he may move the BE to my cottage in Hillsboro and in the garage for storage. Still no title but it's getting closer.

Jim -

One of my former paralegals had a 4x on average three days a week. Our office was across the street from a Skyline.

Great to hear some progress with the Bugeye. My trailer should be back from FL mid-April and is still available for the haul.
