Trying to pull passenger seats out of my 59 BE parts car Bugsy III. Are the nuts holding to seat frame to to 4 mounting brackets captive. Unsure how I unbolt to get the frames out. Best method for removal. Seat bases and frames look great. Car was reupholstered circa early 70's and bases got a good coat of red rustpreventerat that time.
 
I certainly wouldn't know the answer to that. Heck I just discovered from another post that my front bumper is on upside down.
But HAPPY EASTER anyway.
 
Jim assuming they ar the same as later cars, they are captive nuts. Should be an easy removal. Slide seat sll the way back for front two bolts and all the way front wards for back two bolts.
 
Charlie I can feel nuts underneath that the seat frame is fastened but it appears nuts visible from top have been ground off.
 
I'll go tomorrow to the garage and check, but I believe that there is just a hole in the floorboard that you can look through and see the captured nut right up against the floor. Unless I am missing something, there are no nuts on top.
 
Jim,
just looked at my old floors at the 2 nuts on the tunnel side are welded to the under floor 'stiffener'. The sill side of my floors were in bad shape and just had holes. The replacement floors have nuts welded on the bottom rear only with holes in the front.
