BE Master Cylinder Rebuild Kit

I am trying to find out the two parts with a question mark.

The small rubber cap is in my old parts but the round thick "washer" is not, nor do I see it in the Moss catalog.

Also one of the springs does not have a metal "cap". Is that needed?

Any suggestions?

Picture attached (I hope)

Look way down inside the brake bore, that thick washer goes on the brake side.
Something to do with brake equalization I think.
The rubber cup replaces the metal cap and goes to the thick rubber washer.
I bet your old washer is still inside the brake bore.
Also remember the master is out of the car, think about it a second and be sure you have the brake bore as it is reversed when you are looking down the bores.

Have a look at this..its from the "clutch" section in the moss catalog. Looks like a small plug and ring right next to the master (can barely see the ring..almost hidden by the block of the MC)..on the brake side..you're right, it doesn't show this on the "brake" page.
Now you have me wondering as I don't remember having that in mine.
Yeah..I'm running a 7/8". One vendor, to remain nameless, gave me back a 7/8" after I shipped them a 3/4".

Thanks for your help. The picture is helpful. I checked the bore and it is clear no washers lurking in there.

This has been a 10 year restoration and alot of this stuff was done years ago and of course the hard drive crashed with all my pictures so I will be asking more questions.

Thanks

Mike

Mike - my Bugeye M/C has one of the springs with a metal fitting on the end as well;

It looks like the small piece you circled on the left next to the "?" goes into that metal fitting. It is the right depth and size to fit inside, but I am not sure that is correct.

Thanks!

Just to confirm, is this the right set up/order for the right side (looking top down with the push-rods facing towards the front of the car)?

I think you got it.

Thanks Jack.

So it should be reassembled like this (don't mind the one seal on the far side that isn't put on right);

The metal washers go in between the "cupped" seal and the piston, and the seal itself fits over the spring end with the dished out part of the seal facing the spring.

Thanks humoring the questions and pictures, but I've found this helps me personally to get it right and I've had other folks ping me and say the additional documentation was helpful. Maybe this will benefit some other Bugeye newbie in the future!
