BE ignition switch and dang CLIP! How to install..

I've got the ignition switch fitted into the dash, but how does that dang clip work to hold the switch in place?

PO had a combination of clamps and screws, but I'd like to do it the wright way.

thanks...

Clip fits into the slots on each side of the switch and holds it against the dash, forget which way around it goes but is kind of obvious when you try.

I'll go try it Jack and let you know. Are you getting a lot of rain right now?

No rain here yet, they say tomorrow and Friday.

That clip is easy just takes a bit of finger pushing, should not be a problem.

Speaking of this clip.....does anyone know where I can get one? Mine is MIA and the switch is being held in place by a hose clamp (and not very well at that).

That clip, when installed in the right direction will also act as a spring against the back of the dash(just a hint for getting it in the right way!). /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I think those clips are getting pretty hard to come by, but a good substitute can be made with some stiff wire and creative bending!!

I think my problem is that the slots on the side of the switch have been distorted beyond repair. I'll be doing the best I can with the clip with a few drops of JB Weld
where the switch hits the back of the dash.

(uhoh...I'm doing a DPO move. Don't care I'm keeping the car forever)
