BE E-Brake Handle and Cable Removal

I'm trying to see how to remove the E-Brake Cable from the rear body mounting bracket. With all of the grease and gunk in there I can tell their is some sort of slot that the cable can slide out of but what holds Flex cable in place to the body. Mine is flopping around but too much grease and dirt in there right now to see what holds in in place. Guessing there must be some sort of threaded nut.

My BMC Shop manual does not discuss Emergency Brake, replacing cable, or adjusting cable that I can find on quick glance. I recall some sort of discussion on attaching the cable to the handle but of course I didn't need to remember those M & P's at the time.

Seth,

Does you library have anything on E-Brake Removal?

Gas Line now out and removed, amazing what folks decided to do with mechanics wire rather than using correct clips. Rear Brake pipe at union for Flex hose is being marinated in PB Blaster. That one may need to marinate for a coupe of days. Trying to save the mounting bracket. RR Shock is out, discovered that Ball Joint Separator from HF is a wonderful tool for removing the Rear Shock Link from the shock arm. Vice, PB Blaster for a little lubrication, head on the bolt of the flex arm screw, tighten down the bolt and bam!!! Fifty six years of being together comes apart. Be careful as this one comes apart suddenly. Wear gloves as well to protect yourself. I've used this $19.95 less 20% beauty for 3 jobs now and will use again when I find the other Rear Shock in one of the boxes that came with Bugsy II. A useful tool to have in your toolbox.

IIRC there is a nut there that is awkward to loosen because of the metal lip. Use a dental pick to clean all the crude out and it will become obvious.

Thanks Trevor.
