New topic. Risk steppin' on the bosses toes. I see the viewer count showing 2,000 guests and 11 members. I think the policy is "all are welcome", but it does take a few bucks to keep this thing running. I've been a frequenter/member of several LBC sites. This one is best.

Thanks Bob! Yes, it does take some bucks (and a lot of time) to keep this place running smoothly. By the way, a lot of those "guests" are just bots crawling the site, like search engines, etc.
 
Basil - if a member logs in with username and password, does the system show them as "online" until they log out? I assume that "Guest" could be a person not logged in, as well as a bot surfing around for data.

I'd imagine many of us - like me - just stay logged in for days and weeks without logging out. So whether I'm on the BCF site or not, am I showing as being online?

If you leave the site, you will show as logged out (even if you didn't log out). The only ones who show as members online are people who are both logged in" and actually have their browser on the site. Yes, a guest could be a legit person not logged in or a bot (the majority of them are typically bots from my experience. )
