battery not being charged

Well, I've got a new battery, new generator, new fuse block, PO had replaced the regulator recently, but my battery will turn up dead every few days. All gauges and accessories work fine when engine is running, once it has been started it runs fine; previously it had died while just driving along even after replacing battery. Now with new genny that problem seems to have gone away. What say you?

Is the generator putting out enough to kep battery charged? Or is something pulling battery down after car is turned off?

Have you cleaned/dressed the points in the regulator? Just a thought.

I hadn't bothered to check the output of the new genny. I installed it Wed, too it for a ride thursday and tonite she was dead. I'll check the output. The old one (original)was only putting out 1-2 volts, so I felt a new one was called for. I expect I'll be looking for something in the range of 12-16 volts DC?
I don't know doodle about regulator points, but I can read. I'll look something up and check them out.

At idle, you should be getting 12v out of the generator. Mine goes up a bit when it gets some rpm's going.
