I put an Optima Battery in my BN6. Plenty of reserve CCA.
I haven't tried any of the commercially available pre-lube systems, but I made my own some years back using a Spridget starter motor and a diesel fuel pump. Anything you can do to pressurize the system before initial start-up will be a benefit.
