I remember someone (joe reed or JDW) gerry rigging a battery charger and posting it somewhere. Does anyone have a link to it? In the event I decide to just leave a couple of connectors hanging out from under the back bench carpet.

Don't rig anything, do it right! Just buy a battery charger / maintainer and mount it in the car. Then all you have to do is run an AC cord to the car and plug it in. The charger stays permanently attached to the battery. You can have it installed in 20 minutes with a wrench for the battery terminals, a screwdriver to attach the charger, and maybe a drill to drill the mounting holes if you can't find any already available.

jdw has a solar thing he bought at Harbor Freight that plugs into the lighter and sets on the dash to keep the battery up when the vehicle sits for long periods
