TR2/3/3A Basket weave dash on TR3 ???? When

The first post of the BRG TR above : The car is still at the California Auto museum. Still is not a nice enough car for a museum. The car needs work. Our club has spent about $2800 in repairs on the car already.

Jerry, the car that you referenced is one of the three cars that I have found that still has at least some of the wicker material intact. Between my research and what I have found with my car this wicker material was used on the dash, door panels, doglegs behind the seats, maybe on the panel in front of the gas tank (I'm not 100% sure about this area), and on the seats sides (and backs?).

As for the original color, it's lighter than what is seen in many pictures because over time and exposure to sunlight this material will yellow into more of a cream color much like the color on the dash of the car your club has been working on. If you look at the previous pictures I attached you can see the center gauge section is more of a cream color as compared to the rest of the dash. This is because this area is the only area that wasn't covered in black vinyl and thus exposed to the sun longer than the rest of the dash. Additionally, if you remove the gauge bezels you will find the true original color which is more of a white and black pattern color vs cream and black. The attached picture shows this color difference.
