Mrs Basil and I decided a while back that we needed a more "practical" vehicle for those times when we need to haul more than two people or take a load of bags to the local dump. So, after considerable research and pondering, and now that we have sold the Miata, I just put a down payment on this:

2007 Santa Fe Limited. Ours is Powder White Pearl with/Black interior.

Yes, she already is missing it, but once I get the Spitfire runing again she'ss forget all about the Miata.

Basil...very sharp that's a Hyundai right...is it AWD and what size motor...keep us posted on how it performs..I'll probably be looking for a new SUV this fall..currently have a white Mercury Mountaineer with 130,000 miles that is very similar in looks but have no interest in a second one...

Good luck with the new ride. I've got a 3 year old Hyundai (Accent, the cheap one) that I've owned since new, with 64k miles now and no issues. Been rock solid.

May it bring you many happy miles.

Yes, we're getting the AWD version sicne we live in the mountains and it often gets nasty in the winter. The LImited, which this is, has a 3.3Litre 242HP V6. It's performance is good for an SUV, but it won't break any land speed records. Considering its Price, I felt that the new (07) Santa Fe had the best combination of features, style and performance for the money of any SUV in its class.
