hey guys, I got the B started, so thats one less thign i have to worry about, but with the jag and the B in the garage, room is at a premium, so i will be listing some parts on ebay, not sure what kind of prices i should be asking, so any help would be great, i will be selling factory hardtop, i have a nice littel exhaust header, ( not the factory one but a real header) i have 3 twin su manifolds, bunch of carbs that are kinda corroded but could probably be rebuilt,3 stock mg rims (rusty but would prolly clean up) windsheild assembly with cracked glass( dotn knwo if that even worth listing) and numerous lilght fixtures etc, still gotta go through more of the pile but any help on pricing would be great

Start the Hardtop at 700 and let it go from there...Depending on condition it could get you enough to buy a whole other car!

If it's factory(like the ones on the B's in my sig, or Doc's B, or most of Tony's B's) then it's expensive....

Darren, it's a factory one... and R6, I'm gonna hunt you down like the DAWG you are for TELLIN' !!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

...I wuz gonna take a couple "Franklins" up to O-Town and try to weasel 'im outta it... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

...no worries 'til next summer R6. It's life-threat "up there" to me now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Whew....I'll thank cold man winter fer saving me arse. Course if you wanna ship me down there I won't resist /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

"You win an all expenses paid trip to Florida!!"

...just more /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/spam.gif !!!

Seriously: We'll keep Darren straight on his "find".

....$700 for a factory hardtop that needs refinishing is way too high! Reproduction factory hardtops are that price brand new! A factory hardtop in pristine shape is about that price - & they go down based on what type restoration they need.

Heck, I've got almost $500 in refinishing my latest factory hardtop acquisition (you can figure how much I paid for it!)

Aftermarket hardtops are considered junk by some people(inlcuding myself). Nothing beats a factory top, I've seen them sell at swapmeets here for $700-1000 in "Driver condition".
Aftermarket tops are usually cheaply made and never look right; case in point:

"SnugFit!!"

...or a word to that "effect"...

Doc - I own about 6 factory hardtops..never paid over $350 for one (heck, the one I bought brand new in 1979 was only $50) - of course all of them needed some restoration/repair...but, that's the way I like to buy them so I can do the work

....& I'd travel to pick it up for a couple, three hundred - based on condition!

That would be SnugTop...and that chrome trim is held on with exterior poprivets!!! But, heck it keeps the snow outta her.

And in my opinion, are a shoddy, flimsy piece of *#$%

You know the one I've got was bought in '71 for $100... Last week we picked up another factory one for $200. A bit "tatty" but mostly there.

All things considered, Tom Parrish did a better job than Snug-Top for aftermarket ones. Not that I'm partial or anything... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I bought my two factory tops in the early ninties...think I paid 300 for one and 500 for the other...Both are in beautiful original shape.

I gave a C-note for my white one about 1997. The green one came with the car.
