Ball joint to spindle

Ok, probably a dumb question but I can't figure it out.

When tightening the nyloc nut to attach the upper part of the spindle to the new ball joint, the bolt in the ball joint just turns and I can't get the nut tight. How do you get the nut tight to secure the ball joint to the spindle?

it should be a friction fit and as you tighten the nut it locks the spindle into place and able you to tighten more with out the spindle turning, maybe clean the socket really well with degreaser and try again

Do it first with a non nylock nut. After it's tight remove the nut and then use the nylock nut.
