I need a piece of bakelite sheet about 10"X14" around maybe 1/8-3/16" thick. Anybody have a source? Prefer black but color isn't important. Thanks.

Here's an address - though there's that possibility it may not be current.

Used to shop at a place called Tap Plastics.
They had it , I think
Bought a bunch of stuff from them

Here is 1 source: https://www.professionalplastics.com/BakeliteSheet

There are many others online. Google bakelite sheet, phenolic sheet or micarta sheet or any variations containing those three

Thanks, I've looked into them and what they have is too big/expensive for what I'm doing. I need to make a pickguard for a strat. I've found a 12"x12" sheet for $10 shipped and one roughed in for $22. While the cut-out is well worth $12 of my time to me I'm apprehensive it's cut right. I figure if I have to finish it I might as well make it myself.

I'll tell you just like I do everyone else, " Don't like what I'm thinkin', wait five minutes and it'll change.."

Actually, for someone who's indecisive I'm very stubborn. :highly_amused:

I'm only poking fun 'cause I know what it's like to have many projects going in many different directions at one time. More than once I've caught myself pacing in circles around the workshop trying to figure out where to focus my attention.
