Bajo bolt and rocker pedestal threads..

Hello BCF guys.. : I am replacing the head gasket on my 66 AH, upon disassemble of the banjo bolt noticed that the threads were half way gone on the rocker pedestal.
Have ordered a new pedestal, but was wondering if the bad one can be repaired. I.e. re-tapped. And if any one know the tap size etc.. The rocker still has some threads left. The main question is the tap size... any one?

Yes a properly sized threaded inset could be installed in the defective part.Cost wise I think replacing it with new is more cost effective.

Yes, it's doable. I don't remember the thread off the top of my head, but it was BSP (3/8?) and I had to special order the repair kit. I can probably do eight (8) or nine (9) more pedastals with the inserts left.

Thank you too Randy: Looks like you did a very good job with that rocker pedestal.. What I will do is install the new one and repair the old one for future use.. Where did you get the repair kit?

I ordered it local; any machine tool supplier can get it for you.

I'll try to remember to post up the kit size/part no.
