Bad day in the garage

I am an artist mech-a-nick. Where's my paint brush.

Now don't go painting yourselves into any corners!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Things are looking up. Got my refurb rear shocks from Peter C., new exhaust header and steering rack parts yesterday. Also getting a new bracket installed on the generator I broke. I may actually get her off the front jack stands for the first time in about 6 weeks.

So this coming weekend has great potential!

Good news, indeed! Ain't them shocks a work of art? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

You said "bracket." You mean one of the "ears" of the genny, or the steel piece wot bolts it to the block?

I called it a bracket, but I broke off one of the ears, specifically the one that attaches to the water pump. It was an unpleasant event.

I s'pose it was. They're a cast alloy piece. Good that you found a replacement! Check the bearing if it's from an old unit before you go to the trouble of reassembly. The bearing is cheap (and common) but a real PITA if you gotta do it twice.
