3/4 mile from my house:
Train derailment

3/4 mile from my dorm:
School shooting

The Lake County sheriff took a camera phone pic when they passed over the bridge:

The guy from CSX is saying that he's not sure of what's in the cars, but "you probably shouldn't breathe it in." Not like it's your duty to know what your train carries. Enjoy the class action lawsuit you dolt.

CNN is saying that it's a "barely populated rural area," because apparently if it's not New York it ain't nothin'. Jerks. There's houses like 200 feet away from the wreck. They built them next to the tracks because they're running out of places to build houses in Painesville/Mentor. But it's rural? KMA, CNN.

My old elementary and high schools have been closed and evacuated.

Oh, and this wreck is about an eigth of a mile from a HUGE Lubrizol chemical plant.

We in the Fire Department refer to cops as
"Blue Canaries",as they go running in to scenes
like this - rather than standing back & observing to
see if there's a danger to human life.
The media is always looking for the "Big Story" -
- when we had 3 earthquakes in our area back in the early-
- 80's,they were dissapointed to learn that there was no
major damage (most houses are single story).
