I just fired Little Mo up after replacing the blown head gasket. It actually runs very well. My initial few laps on my driveway circle had it sputtering when I accelerated hard and then it died. When I flipped my fuel pump selector switch to the Facet pump it ran perfectly. Initially I was using a pump from Moss that they call a replacement for the solid state SU pump that died earlier this year. I have the two pumps connected in series with a switch to select which one gets the 12 volts. Now I need to check the timing as I had removed the distributor in tracking down the cause of my intermittent engine death. It will be great being able to drive again. Looking forward to a Healey gathering in Columbus, OH later this month.

WOOHOO!

Nelson, got details on the Healey gathering. Not that I've got time to go. Any spare time would go towards getting Bugsy III into the garage and getting the bonnet back to the house.

One of these times when I get to Dayton I'll have to see what progress you have made.

Nelson,

Slim and none so far other than getting MC resleeved to 3/4" and redid pedal box in correct paint. Bonnet issue has me stalled as I didn't want to put any more effort into fixing bonnet that came with Bugsy II when I learned I could get a Bonnet much easier to restore and not have to deal with fender beading and needing to reinforce the early '58 inner bonnet bracing. On top of that every spare moment wife has me occupied trying to keep the end of year water skiing alive as long as possible. Several more weeks max left before water gets to cold and then it's a long time till June. She acts like she's 20 again up on her slalom ski, really strong and skiing in stuff I would never attempt to ski in. I know my role, boat driver, boat fueler, and boat mechanic. Hey if getting her skiing makes "Mama Happy, It Makes Me Happy as well.":glee: I would not have tried to acquire Bugsy III in the middle of winter. There is a method to my madness.

PS Reassembly of Front End and Painting Disc Brakes next on the agenda.

Congrats on getting her running again! I now know what it feels like to be without one's Sprite. Hopefully mine will be back on the road by early next week.

I'm hoping for you. Mine has been off the road for most of the summer but at least I will get to enjoy the cool days of Fall. Let us know when you ar back.
