b210 in colorado springs for $300

If it is an 1980 I believe it is a 210 not a b210. B210 designation I believe ended with the 78 model. If it is the early 5sp I believe it can be made to fit. Not sure of what would be needed but know the engine plate should be the same.

The made a dogleg 5 speed for one year (78 or 79) I am not sure which, either way I can tell you it fits the tunnel.

Hmmmm.....the Springs aren't that far away from me. I might just call this guy and drive down there to take a look.

I have the correct trans in my shop. Let me know and I can e-mail some pics to you.

Now if I can just sell the Mustang, I can buy the rest!

B210 was from '74-'78.'78's had the 5 speed,
but not all of them.
I have a '78 5 speed that might go into my
other '78........unless some wants to give me a
generous amount for it - wahat are the 5speed trans worth?

Bill, You devil!!! It's worth at least $30!

And I'll up that by 10% to $33.

So what would be the proper years of the Datsun B-210 transmssion for the Rivergate conversion ?

'79-'82.....just make sure the "60" is cast on the side of the case and you're good to go.

I recently found a 5-speed in a '77 B210.....the previous owner transplanted the engine & trans from a newer 210 into his car, so anytime I see an old Datsun in the junkyard I take a look!

20 years ago a buddy put a complete Datsun engine/trans from a B210 into his Midget. It's the Type 56 tranny and would not fit in the transmission tunnel - it's just too fat. He cut the tunnel out and welded in a new tunnel. Works great, car goes like stink what with 1600 cc and a sidedraft Weber DCOE. Then he welded on a Vega front end with proper ball joints, big brakes and so forth. No, he's not a purist

My Midget has a Type 60 Nissan tranny - slides right in. I did mine 15 years ago before the Rivergate kit so there's a lot of home brewed things involved. It doesn't shift as slick as the ribcase but it doesn't howl like the ribcase or break like the ribcase, and the overdrive makes the car a happy cruiser on the open road. I don't believe I'd ever go back.

I just looked in the factory shop manual for the
1978 B210.The 4 speed is "F4W60",& the 5 speed is
"FSW63A".
I have the 4speed on the garage floor right now,
& the 5 speed is ready to be pulled. If anyone wants,I
can check the numbers on the cases.

hey there,

I wondered if any of you might be close enough to Colorado Springs to go take a look at this transmission for me. It's a lot to ask, I know. The seller says it's a FS5W60A transmission (that's the perfect model) in a b210 that he claims is all original (which would mean it's not a FS5W60A). If you are able to get to CO Springs to take a look at it I'd appreciate it. I need to know the serial no. off of the top of the tranny (it'll be different than the model no. but it's important) and I'd like to know where exactly the drain plug is (that, apparently determines if I need an adapter or not). I can send more details and some photos of where exactly to look for this stuff if somebody is able to go.

thanks guys, i look forward to hearing from somebody
