As I get closer to getting my Sprite back on the road I find that I'm having a memory lapse. It has only been 37 years since I started my "summer project" to restore my Sprite. I had to look in my owner's manual to find where the hood release is mounted in the cockpit. Now I see that I'll have to fabricate a little bracket but that is no problem. My problem is that I don't know where to route the cable in the engine compartment of my Mk 2. Can somebody give me rough idea of where to run the thing as it wends its way to the front of the car? I know where it goes through the firewall but Mapquest doesn't show the rest of the way.

The cable runs along the left inner fender, goes through the splash pan and makes a 90 under the front top.
there is a very small hole where it goes through, it then makes a loop around the
pull lever and gets a cable clamp on it. The clamp clamps the cable twice on the loop. There is a curved spring to pull back the release lever, it gets hooked on a turned down tab.
A couple of clamps hold the cable to the inner fender and one clamp is on the far left of the top of the front panel where the cable makes a 90.

Many thanks. That is exactly what I needed. This summer I will finally be back on the road. It is fun getting the last pieces put back together now that the paint only has a couple more grit levels of sanding.
