B Front Air Dam on a Rubber Bumper Midget

Anyone tried the air dam fitted by the factory to MGB “LE” models in 1980, to a rubber bumper Midget? I'm looking for an air dam that is ABS and this is the only MG part I can find.

Suggestions?

I was hoping someone might have tried this. Rather than spend 200 on something that needs serious modification, I could build one out of flat ABS plastic sheet. I made the black side panels for my enduro kart and they held up quite nicely.

Although, do I really need another side project?

As I posted before the great "Hack" a friend tried one on his RB Midget and reported it worked well to reduce lift but I never saw the car with it installed and don't know how well it fit. It must have been close as this guys not the greatest mechanic or fabricator and if it wasn't close enough to get a couple of screws into he probably wouldn't have gotten in on. The bumpers are pretty similar in shape, if you have anyone around with a RB MGB then I'd just take some measurments across the width and get an idea of how it compares to the Midget. I think what you'll find is that the air dam comes all the way out to the sides on the Midget instead of tucking in equally as on the B.

Hey Bill, did you "shop" that photo to extend out? I like that fit better. I hope I'm in town this year for the All British Car Show in Round Rock Texas. Maybe someone will have an "LE" B there that I can get some measurements of the spoiler. with out the measurements I'm starting to lean to building my own.
