B-29 Rollout

Kewl!
I remember seeing them fly in the early 50's....from the ground, hard to tell a 29 and a 50 apart unless you can clearly see the cowlings.
Probably 30 years ago...maybe 25...we were getting ready to board a ferry at Kingston, to proceed to Mukleteo or Edmonds...saw a 4-engine heavy heading slowly northward up the sound, saw the gear come down, realized the nose gear went almost straight down off the tip of the nose and I knew what it was.
Found out later it was Fifi heading in to land at the air show at Paine Field.
There is nothing like the sound of four angry radials.

Watched this and got goosebumps.

I've been on FIFI and IMO the horn button and yoke was by far the coolest thing on the plane. I wanted to make one of the flights but they wouldn't let me sit in the nose or run a belt through so I opted out.

Bravo! It is so cool to see those in a museum display. But so much better when you have to squint into the sun, because they're back in the air.

Thanks for posting!

Keep 'em flying.

Living history. Or maybe "resurrected" history. Great to see.

Very cool, it's good to know that another of these aerial behemoths flys again. We went to see Fifi and a B24, Diamond Lil, a few months ago and missed them by two days.

Compare the B-29 (left) to the B-36. Now *that* was quite an aircraft!

Hoo boy. I had forgotten how big the 36 was.

Isn't the B-36 also the largest bomber we ever built?

American made, I think your right! B 36 has 230 foot wing span, I think I'm correct and a B 52 has 185feet. The worlds largest is Russian built, as a bomber and has been converted to haul cargo. PJ

I've never seen a 29 and 36 side by side. It looks the same way a B-17 looks next to a B-29.
