I'm going to put an aux fuel pump on the TF and would like to know if it's better for the SU pump to pull fuel through the aux pump or push it through? I sent Dave Dubois a PM, but he must be away from his computer for a few days. PJ
For what it's worth ,I have an Aux pump on my B.I have been pushing it through the aux pump with my (aftermarket clone) stock pump for a few years now with no bad results.
Come to think of it though,I haven't had to try my Aux pump since I put the clone pump in place of the stock one.
Paul - I just now noticed that I had a PM after reading you post above. The absolute best way to contact me is via e-mail at SUfuelpumps@donobi.net. I very seldom notice that I have a PM until days (or weeks) later. To answer your question, It makes absolutely not difference where the auxiliary pump is located. All the pumps that I know about employ check valves and all will pump through any of the others. My article, that shows the installation I did on our MGB shows the Facet pump mounted on the back of the passenger side battery box and is strictly a matter of convenience. Even though the engine compartment is not the best location for a fuel pump, the auxiliary pump is there for emergency and therefore even the engine compartment is fine.
Cheers,
Yes, it did sprinkle a bit Sat. & Sun (6.3" in 24 hours). Nothing we here in the Pacific Northwest can't weather. Fortunately we live on high ground with gentle slopes, so no flooding and no landslides. It was the previous week with the north winds and sub freezing temperatures and 48 hours without power that almost did us in. A small fireplace in a two story house can't keep up with the snow. the morning of the third day, the temperature inside the house when we got out of bed was 44° - about the same temperature as the interior of a refrigerator.
How have you weathered the Pineapple Express? Your signature block doesn't say where in Seattle you live and from the news, several places over there got hammered pretty good.
Cheers,
