Can anyone reccomend a good mechanic in Austin just in case we get over our head? (We haven't been there yet - but one never knows!) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Although I can not vouch for him personally, when I was in Texas at a swap meet, I was speaking to a fellow about the absolute void of British cars/parts there.

He began talking about his MG, and he gave me a card a Mr. Ron Shimek with Auto Service Center, Inc. He said that the fellow was a class act and loves MG's.

I have his card right here. the card has a website : www.shimekauto.com

I have chatted with the fellow at Old English Imports a time or too. While he hasn't done any work for me, he is quite friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He is also English. I suppose that may help.

His address is 1310 W. 5th and his number is 478-5001.

Phil at International Motors has a few parts cars behind his shop. He is a super nice guy, but since I have been paying visits to him (a couple of months now) it does not seem that the cars he is working on have made any progress. I think his health may be slowing him down.

His address is 517 Industrial Blvd and his number is 423-9554.

There is a place in town called Best of British, too. I don't known anything about it. I have just seen the phone book listing.

Finally, I am always happy to get my elbows greasy in order to help keep an MG on the road. I have a 7 month old daughter, so my schedule is a bit hectic, but feel free to drop me a line raa10c@freescale.net if there is anything you need help with.
