Austin Healey 3000 Engine Dissected

I visited the British Motor Industry Heritage Museum at Gaydon. There, tucked away in a back exhibit was:
 
Plus, a forward sump, and I don't recognize the xmsn either.

It's not a "Healey" Austin engine; I wonder what it was really intended for?
 
The transmission doesn't look like a Healey type either. Could it be another type of Austin 6 cylinder motor? Perhaps it is the "Blue Streak" six developed in Australia for the Austin Freeway. This motor was a "B" series 1,622c.c. with two extra cylinders. I understand BMC considered it for the MG "C" before they re-developed the Austin-Healey 3000 motor.
It was called "Blue Streak" because the armed forces were testing the Blue Streak missile in the Australian outback at the time (early sixties).
 
That is the Austin Princess 3 litre motor from '68-on.
Like the MGC motor, but the oil sump is at the front. Block is a different casting, but rotating parts are the same.
That is a power steering pump on the left side of the motor. The pump reservoir is what looks like an oil filter. On the right side was a hydraulic pump for the autoleveling suspension system. Mechanical fuel pump as well.
Gearbox looks like the MGC overdrive box, but with a longer shifter linkage for the saloon car instead of the shorter linkage for the MG sports car.
