Wondering if anyone on here is planning on going?? I live one day to the east and know the Black Hills of So Dak pretty well. I'm going and it would be nice if enough Sprite guys showed up so that they recognize us! Know some fun roads and places that I'll bet the "Big Healey's" don't know about. Be happy to show you guys around. Anyway, I'll be driving my Mk3 red Sprite through the twistys!:eagerness:

A guy here in Tampa has reservations for one of the hotels. My advice to him was bring a trailer. I would not want to do that distance in my Accord Touring which is a great Long distance cruiser.

According to the site the originally contracted hotels have already filled up and the organizers are expanding the early sign up to other motels. Being a cheapskate I will probably book in a near by town that isn't so touristy. Be great if you could borrow that trailer, Jim! Anyway, I've never had a problem with driving my old Brit stuff all over the country and in hind site I've had more trouble with the modern vehicles while out on the road. The fellow in our club that wins the distance award every year puts about 20K on his MGC every year.

I’m thinking more of South Dakota in the Summer.

It isn't in the summer. It will be in September.

I stand corrected.

Yes, after labor day. You will be rid of the tourists with kids but us oldsters will likely be out. Weather should be great. We usually schedule trips to the hills this time of year and often in the winter since the crowds are gone and there is still plenty of interesting things to do. Used to cross country ski but never have risked an injury doing down hill so we don't go for that.

Kurt,

I plan to be there in my Sprite. Look forward to meeting you!

Nate

I'll be there. We were in that area a couple of years ago driving a rental car. As we were driving around, I kept thinking "man, I wish we were in the Sprite"!

Hey, great guys I won't be the only one among-st all those "heavy" Healeys! Lets keep in touch before the event. Shelleck, I'm a day away to the east so maybe we can at least travel together. Are you driving or towing from Indianapolis? We had several guys from the west coast come through here and stay on the way to the Midget 50 and the AH Sprite 50 as well who drove the whole way. A caravan of several from different directions would be great.

Kurt

Kurt, we haven't figured out our travel plans. We are not going to drive the Sprite there and back.
The club is looking into transports and I'm looking at towing options.
There will probably be several caravans travelling together from this area, but nothing is final.
Steve

OK, Steve. Looking forward to meeting up with you. BTW I'm a member of the Flatwater Austin Healey club of Lincoln and Omaha in case anyone coming from that way might need assistance. I'm sure some generous folks will be willing.
