Austin A30 or A35.

Anyone know where I can get one of these?

Mechanical bits not too important. Willing to look at cars in various condtion depending on price.

I'm not in any big rush...just noodling around in case any of you see one.

Would like something in eastern USA but have trailer and will travel for the right deal.

I've got a Cambridge... Rescue it, it's gonna be a gasser some day!

Steve:

Maybe historic rallies plus some vintage track days...still trying to decide.
I'm happy with my present Spridget and the A30/35 shares lots of parts with my car, so it seems like a logical choice (in a goofy sort of way).

frankenstang57:

Thanks but the A30/35 has "the look" I want.

By the way, a schedule conflict kept me (and my ultra-cheap ~Escort~ ) away from the Grassroots Challenge in '07.
I'm still going to try to make it in '08 if I can get away.

Thanks!

That's a little more than I'd like to spend right now.

But if I don't find something by the Fall, I'd consider something in that price range.

I will give Mike Salter a call tomorrow and see what he has, bye the way where in the auld sod were you from and when did you come over here

Willie:

I lived in Kilkenny as a kid (but I was born in the UK...in Leeds). My Mom's family is from Kilkenny and we have lots of relatives there.

My Dad's family is from Cavan and we still have many relatives there. I've visited Cavan but never lived there.

Being Irish, I also have relatives in the UK, Australia, Argentina, Canada, France, South Africa, you name it.

We came to Canada in the late 50's and my folks finally moved to the USA in the early 60s.
My parents (in their 80s) have neighbours that are also Irish. She's from Cork and he's from Cavan. Last weekend the neighbours came over and I sat around listening to these two old Cavan men talk about the auld sod while we drank Irish whiskey. It was a delight.

I'm re-doing my passport this week.
I really need to go back to Éire again in the next year or so...a visit to the place sort of re-charges my Celtic batteries.

By the way ~This~ was my first car and although it is an A40, it is part of the reason I am looking for an old Austin.

Thanks for your efforts as I continue my "hunt".
